Dr Nicholas Whittall founded a strategy consulting company in 2009 and a property development company in 2016. He is currently developing his on-line education business. His strategy courses draw on his experience as a consultant. His property courses draw on the experience he and his wife have gained by flipping properties from 2013 then keeping properties for vacation rental. He has also distilled some of his experience as a Baptist pastor in his course on Eulogies.Nicholas has (1) enacted roles in research, development, programme management, business development and strategy in Aerospace and Defence companies; (2) served as a Baptist minister and college lecturer; (3) advised on strategy and transformation in the UK public sector; and (4) established Consulting, Property, and eLearning businesses of his own.His first course on Udemy is built on the experience he and his wife gained in launching a Vacation Rental/Holiday Let in East Devon in the United Kingdom. His second course Strategy for Activists distils the essence of strategy development for people who want much more "so what" than "why".His third course Eulogies: How to Craft and Deliver Memorable Farewells draws on his experience as the pastor of a Baptist church in London to give practical advice on how to honour one who has died with a final "good word" that engages the minds and hearts of those present. His fourth course How to Flip Property for Profit draws on the experience he and his wife have gained as "serial flippers" in East Devon in the United Kingdom. His fifth course Forecast Business Outcomes with Monte Carlo Analysis shows how to forecast the maximum, minimum and most likely profit from a project, such as flipping a property. This uses the functions in Excel and requires no specialist knowledge. His sixth course How to Buy a Business shows how to navigate the process of buying one or more businesses, from addressing the question, "Why do this?" through finding a target, assessing its value to the acquirer, constructing a deal, to closing the deal and taking charge of it.His seventh course How to Build a Business Plan with Monte Carlo Analysis extends his earlier course Forecast Business Outcomes with Monte Carlo Analysis to forecasting the free cash flows from a business for a range of performance improvement targets. Whilst most business planning will set a single target for each of, say, sales and margin improvements and selling and general administration efficiency, this course shows how to set ranges of performance as minimum, maximum and most likely, and then calculate the likelihood of all possible free cash flows the business can generate. His eighth course Risk Management with Monte Carlo Analysis draws on his experience in project and programme management, strategy development and consulting. It illustrates the risk management process with the business from the previous course to show how to identify and analyse risks, work out the aggregate exposure, design mitigation actions, then decide which mitigations to implement. As with his other courses involving Monte Carlo Analysis, Nicholas has provided a working spreadsheet that allows students to follow the lectures and apply risk management to their own situations.
