Instructor Info

Manuel Rondon is currently working as a freelance 3D artist and college instructor. He loves both jobs because they allow him to work on what he is passionate about while still having some creative freedom. His advice for students who are just starting out and want to make it in the industry is to be knowledgeable and be open to different areas of 3D art as this can give you more opportunities for jobs. As you gain more experience, you can then specialize in characters, textures, or animations but in the beginning, it's best to wear as many hats as possible.

Course Info

In this course, you will learn how to build a professional sci-fi environment from scratch using 3ds Max, Substance, Photoshop and Unity. You will be taken through the whole workflow from the initial modeling to the final built and render within Unity. As a freelancer, being efficient is a very valuable asset. In this course, you will learn how to save lots of time when building an complete detailed environment. Making an environment for games is an exciting task and hope you join this journey of taking a small 2d concept to the final 3d game-ready level.

So far, the tutorial is OK... nothing spectacular. Hopefully there it will get better as the tutorial moves along.

You have to explain what exactly you are doing. You keep pressing short-keys, without explaining what your actually pressing. Its very very hard to follow!

Unfortunately, this course is extremly outdated in the most important part - Unity lighting. HDRP workflow since Unity 2019 changed a lot, so you can't follow the tutorial if you want to use newest versions of Unity.

Found a more efficient way of modelling using some of the blocking methods and the human reference I used a block in the past but the arms make a difference. I actually understand most of the tools in substance thanks to this tutorial

¡Muy contenta con el curso! Muy fácil de entender, paso a paso, y con todo el material del curso. Me ha servido para terminar de comprender algunos aspectos de 3DSMax, SP y Unity que no conocía. Totalmente recomendable para alguien con un conocimiento básico de estos softwares :)

Good course. But instructor used paid alphas of JRO. For training buying it for 100$ not expedient. All other was nice.

Although not for a complete beginner this course is very good. Modeling explanation is very good, the tips are worth their weight in gold. Solid course, hopefully the teacher does more.
