As we lead you through the recording and mixing process, we'll explore the basics of acoustics and sound treatment, microphone types, polar patterns, mic'ing techniques, ways to avoid sound leakage, and the best way to use effects, including EQ, compression, reverb, delay, and saturation. Two major recording styles are shown: live recording and multi-tracking.
The class is divided into 3 Sections:
Section 1 covers the pros, cons and considerations taken into recording a song live. Many fundamentals of recording are covered here, including acoustics, microphone types, polar patterns, and a mic'ing strategy that will give you the best sounding recording.
Section 2 introduces a different recording style -- multi-tracking using overdubs. New musical elements are added and several different mic'ing techniques are introduced. There is a greater focus on using effects while mixing including EQ, compression and saturation.

Being a beginner I'm not very comfortable with a lot of technical terms, a few definitions could have been better but I learned a lot throughout the course

Didn't like this course. Explanation is too brief and there is not much useful information. I wanted to return money, but since I already watched many lessons, desperately trying to find something useful and justify my purchase, Udemy denied to give my money back.

This summation of the mixing task is the most complete and coherent possible. It is thorough, foundational and wise. Now it remains to be seen if the ensuing training can reach the level of the problem description.
Details information explained in easy to understand words. The instructor talks to the student, not "at them" or "over them".
I would like to see more examples of set up, both in mic placement and controls of the pre amp, compressors, etc. Too much general info, not enough visual and sonic examples. Also, the side camera work I find very disconcerting.
