Was interesting, in that I played outside my comfort level.

Jim offers an excellent course in acoustic blues. He often begins with a performance clip by the artist, followed by his own performance of the material. He then introduces the chords in the song (e.g. E or E7, A or A7, B7), and then takes the student through detailed tablature. There are a lot of interesting techniques in here: damped bass note, single string runs, double stops, hammer ons, pulls offs, vibrato, bends, held bends, and turnarounds. He offers performance tips on the timing in the singing, the spacing in the notes, and variations. You can play some nice blues songs and strengthen your picking hand if you, as Jim recommends, put yourself ino the music!

I've been availing myself of Jim's lessons for several years now and I would say that they are the best blues instructional materials out there. I don't feel that I would have come nearly as far in my playing asI would have without them. His instruction is always interesting, and he breaks down difficult passages in ways that make them easy to learn. I greatly appreciate the work and skill that Jim has put into this.

It's next to impossible to find lessons on old blues guitar. Jim clearly knows this style in depth and is an excellent teacher.
