Writing, word-smithing, and communicating have been passions of mine since childhood. As a result, my friends refuse to play Scrabble with me unless I am on their team. I guess that's what happens when you decide at age 12 to become a writer. The publishing industry has fascinated me since I found a copy of Writers Digest at a local newsstand when I was in seventh grade and books are among my most prized possessions. For more than 20 years, I've been a publications consultant and freelance writer and editor. My clients have included many high-tech Silicon Valley companies, including Apple, Hewlett-Packard, IBM, and Hitachi to name just a few. I've also written articles for local, national, and international publications and have worked as both a magazine and book editor. My articles have appeared in InfoWorld magazine, Infants to Teens, Parents, Fit, Connecticut Woman, High Technology Careers, the Almaden Times, and several in-house corporate magazines and newsletters. I’ve also been a columnist for InfoWorld and the Reno Gazette-Journal. Over the years, I've developed and taught writing classes for several writers groups and two university certificate programs, including a Documentation and Publication Certificate Program, which I helped develop. When I'm not writing, I'm enjoying the company of my family, friends, and furbabies, expanding my vegetable garden, playing guitar and singing off key, dancing, or putting my multilingual abilities to the test while traveling.
