About This Course

Visual Effects FOR FREE with Fusion inside Davinci Resolve 15

Fusion is now integrated with Davinci Resolve 15.

It's a robust compositing software, node based just like Nuke. And it is used in High End films from Avatar to Star Wars, Harry Potter, Superman, Spiderman, Ironman, X-Men, Game of thrones, James Bond films. you name it

These are just a few films, the list is long. But the question is not how many films, the question is do you want to join the professionals, and add the power of node based compositing to your workflow ... FOR FREE... yes BlackMagic did it again. It has bought the monster software from Eyeon and released it for free. What an opportunity? One you cannot afford to miss, because now you can it do it all in Davinci: editing, visual effects, Sound and color correction.

And I will take you in the Fusion journey, from the very beginnning to get you up and running fast in a top notch compositing beast.

We'll start strong with:

- a quick compositing,

- and then I will take you in a tour of the interface, because I want you to feel comfortable in YOUR new compositing software.

- You will learn how to work with nodes, including text, how to organise them and make them do what you want.

- Of course we'll do tracking,

- stabilising shaky footage,

- rotoscoping,

- green screen keying,

- Animation,

- and much more including where to get more free OpenFX to have a richer toolkit.

I can't wait to see what you will do with Fusion in Davinci Resolve 15.

While presenting a showcase of all the basic tools, what I wanted more from this course was an example combining the tools presented in a final result. For example, tracking combined with roto (masks) up to the point where we would export (deliver) a realistic final result.

This was a good course, lots of useful tips and information. Could use some updating for version 16 and would be nice if you could include information i.e. commands for mac users if possible, but not a deal breaker.

As a beginner in both Resolve and Fusion, this course has given me an understanding of how it works.
My feelings are that the instructor has a good knowledge of the topic. He explains everything easily and understandably. I am looking forward to learning more about Fusion, and this course has given me a platform for future learning.

Was expecting little more in depth tutorial. contents very basic and very limited. Expecting more explanation on few more effects.

- sample files to follow along would help
- section 2 feels like you are working with an awkward version of photoshop since you never show the actual result, same with section 7 and 8.
- watching someone fiddling around rotoscoping, aka pen tooling, is pretty painful
- this course should be edited down to 60 minutes max
- the animation section 9 could be done faster in the timeline editor. why bother with fusion?
- the green screen keying can be done in the color editor as well. why do I need for fusion for that. again no end result. looked like a strange photoshop tutorial
- come to think of it: pretty disappointed. expected more

Usually technical courses like these have material, I try to find similar footage but I run to my own problems which hinders my learning speed.

The instructor obviously is an expert, but sometimes goes on a tangent.
