About This Course

Excel: Sort Any Size Data File With Excel Macros & Custom Buttons, Learn Visual Basic to Customize Your Excel Reports.

From The Instructor,

This Excel course is strongly focused on Creating Excel Macro's and Button's, and some Excel Visual Basic so you can have more control over large amounts of data files. We go Step-by-Step, Line-by-Line so anyone with an interest in this is Guaranteed to learn how. This is NOT a surface level teaching of general Excel topics.

Have more control over large Excel data files with lots of Column's and Row's to get faster results with Sorting your data in several ways with less repetitious work.

If you have large Excel data files with lots of columns and rows to sort through, this will save you hours of back and forth searching. We go beyond basic Button and Macro creation, I show you how to customize them to your needs. Reusable for other data files, just cut-and-paste to replace, or add more data to existing files that automatically sorts itself, no more inserting copied rows.

You'll discover:

  • How to get a tab or comma delimited file into Excel

  • How to adjust the size, location, and appearance of all your buttons at one time.

  • How to use Visual Basic to create professional looking reports.

  • How to Record Macro's and associate the code to buttons.

  • How to control several levels of data within the Custom Sort box to get exactly the reports you're wanting.

  • How to make the Buttons multitask and save you time and effort.

  • How to make Toggle Buttons to sort A-Z and Z-A.

  • How to use a counter to track your data as it grows.

  • How to add more data without 'Inserting' and let the Buttons automatically sort the data for you.

  • Make one file sort multiple ways so you'll have several files and reports in one.

  • Learn a skill that can be carried over to other file needs.

Since the buttons are doing the work for you, error's become very rare, and your reports are regarded as more trusted.

Included in this course are Bonus Tips that grow the longer you stay with the course.

  • Sort any size Excel data file with rows of data by any column you chose at the click of a custom button you learn to make.

  • Learn to customize the macro's you record to give your reports a professional look.

  • Learn some basic VBA skills to have more control of Excel's powerful features.

Concepts and content are spot on but the narration is tedious. It would be better with some modulation of intonation or pitch in the voice.

I like that the instructor takes time to explain the different topics of the course in a clear and simple manner. At the same time it's a quick way, but effective to learn macros and use them to handle the sorting of data within Excel.

I consider myself and intermediate user to advance, however I started from the beginning, I like the way you really break everything down, it doesn't bother me that I already know it's nothing like a refresher. I like the security feature never thought of using that, sorting always freaks me out because I'm not sure if it sorted correctly. Looking forward to the rest of the course, I will come back and update.
I am on Section 18, I am so proud of myself for being able to do this without having to watch every step. You walk us through it so thoroughly that it is so easy to do on your own. I like the way you broke down the If - Elise - Then statement by putting it in the Button Section first before adding the additional code. And the 2 step Macro makes sense, like you say you cut down on copy errors in the long run.
I have finished the course, and I can see how this is not just limited to sorting, but to anything you want to use as a macro, and assign it to a button. Knowing where to go in the VBA and knowing what to change really broadens your VBA knowledge without writing it from scratch. David will show you enough to make you SMART.

Enfin un cours clair, efficace et "pratique", concret, sur les macros.
Maintenant je vais pouvoir aborder le code sans avoir l'impression de me noyer dans de l'abstrait. Grand cours, brillant !

This is a great course for those who have a lot of data to "sort" through and draw insights or build reports from. Most of us can sort, but David walks you through on how to take advantage of the power the macros offer and how to tweak the macro as your data set changes. I highly recommend this course if you've ever been hesitant about building Macros and Sorting features to do the heavy lifting in data analysis!

I got to learn how to create toggle buttons to make sorting of data quicker and easier at the click of a button. I now know how to sort data by more than one level at the click of a button and to have that data sorted by criteria that I choose. Together with this toggle button programing I learnt how to show conditional labeling to the sorting being actioned by the toggle buttons so that the user knows what data has been sorted and how it has been sorted.

All-in-all a very thorough and easy to follow course, with some very useful applications.
