When I was little I liked to draw, but my parents told me that the artists starve to the dead. That's why I studied engineering.but when I was 25 years old, although I was successful in what I was doing, there was an insatiable need to express myself through drawing. and on weekends and spare time were not enough, that...

Eine gute FĂĽhrung durch die Muskeln und Knochen. Hat SpaĂź gemacht, nur Stimme und Musik war oft nicht gut ausgesteuert. Die Musik war oft zu sehr im Vordergrund.

I love the material but there is a bit of a struggle understanding the instructor’s English. I think I would prefer that he use Spanish in some cases when he is struggling to find words. Thank you.

The course has given me a deeper understanding of the human face. I look at peoples expressions in a different way and its helping me tremendously in becoming the portrait painter I want to become. But practicing what you teach us is the most important of all.

I finished the skull part and at this point I don't know if I'm going to waste any more of my time on this.
1. This looks like poor anatomy lesson. As an amature artist myself, I don't care for the names of bones (proorly pronounced, but I digress), I care about proportions, I care how these bones are shaped differently in different people and what difference does it make to overall look of the face. For example, large forehead, how large can it be? What are proportions relating to other facial bones? Eye sockets, for ex., how large can they be, how close or far apart can they be? How does that relate to shape of other bones? Not a single word about that.
2. The teacher adds shadows and highlights but vaguely explains why, although, IMO, that's the whole point! Skulls are different and certain areas can be differently shaped, so you don't highlight to people the same way. Nothing, no explanation on that.
3. Explains bone structure but uses picture (it's not copyrighted I hope, but I digress) of a dude with raging beard! Use something where actual bones are visible! Don't use pictured you LIKE, but use those that are usefull. If you talk about zygomatic bone, use as a reference something with very pronounced zygomatic bone. Compare differently shaped bones. Like, OMG I could go on and on, and I've just done the secton 2...
4. Ant by far the worst offence: USES RULER TO GET PROPORTIONS RIGHT! DUDE! I can do it with a ruler myself!!! OMG like that's the whole point to learn to draw portraits: to be able to do it WITHOUT a ruler!!! But he's like "I made some marks on paper, measured picture with a ruler". Are you like kidding me??? What if a person is sitting in front of me, what do I do? Oh, just a minute, let me take a ruler???
I hope this gets better later in other parts, but like "skull" part is like... If this is a course on how to copy a viking picture, then it should be named like that. Not a face anatomy drawing.

I draw faces. Especially interested in expressions; also people that are not in proportion (goofy characters). So, I hope this course will help me hone my skills a bit.

Book advertisement through me off, I was all ready to get learning and had my sketch materials but the book pitch made me feel like I was missing out and instead of buying this class maybe I should have just bought the book?
