Learn the Building Blocks of Music Theory while learning to play!

The Play For Life Piano Theory Course is designed to arm you with a foundation you will need for a lifetime of musical growth.  Every song you play is built from a scale and a series of chords that originate from the key of that scale.  The goal of this couse is to equip you with the basic knowlege you need to begin learning your favorite songs and creating your own melodies.  This deeper understanding of music theory will help to take the "mystery" out of playing the piano and help you begin to grasp the language of music.

In this course, we start with the very basic of playing the piano startin with the names of the keys, posture and hand postion.  Once the basics are established, we delve into the subject of key signatures with a detailed explanation of the circle of fifths.  Understanding the cirlce of fifths will be crucial to your success throughout the rest of the course.  The remainder of the course will explore 3-note chords and a simple chord progression in all of the 12 major keys learned.   This course also includes supplemental resources to help you master these concepts.  Whether you are a beginner or a seasoned player looking to have a better understanding of basic theory, The Play For Life Piano Theory Course will be a valuable resouce in your library and will keep you playing for years to come!
