Installation and Configuration
In the scope of this section, we will start from the very beginning and review hosting options. There is a number of points that should be considered before you select hosting for Magento 2. After selection, we will learn how to get Magento 2 easily installed with one of the compatible hosting providers. And at the end of the section, we will review an external free tool to manage the server as well as install Magento 2 sample date, so that we can play with preconfigured data and learn more effectively.
SECTION #2
Magento 2 Core Functionality
In the scope of this section, we will define what is core Magento 2 core functionality and in the step by step, manner will start reviewing it.
As the first step, we will cover what is Magento 2 hierarchy and how it could help you to have a number of separate websites within one installation and different localization.
As the next step, we will cover the new Magento 2 dashboard and the way it’s organized.
Right after that, we will start reviewing all available and supported product types in Magento 2 including Simple Product, Configurable Product, Grouped Product, Virtual Product, Bundle Product, and Downloadable Product. We will also cover what are the attributes of the products and how to manage them.
Later, we will start digging into the marketing related stuff, and we will learn how to use Related Products, Upsells, Cross-sells, Catalog Price Rules, Cart Price Rules as well as Newsletter functionality.
Finally, we will cover User Groups, User Roles, Order Statuses, and other aspects of Magento 2 Core functionality.
SECTION #3
Tweak and Tune-up Magento 2
In the scope of this section, we will learn how to use Magento Marketplace so that you could install extensions and templates.
We will also cover what is Magento 2 Command Line Tool and how to switch you Magento 2 to production mode to get better performance.
This User-Oriented Magento 2 video course gives merchants, marketing managers, and other admin users the basic information they need to set up and manage a Magento 2 store.
The development/coding side is not covered in this course.
Upon course is finished, student will have solid knowledge how to manage Magento 2 based store and how to setup core functionality from scratch.

Up until now, I think it's a good course to take for beginners. It really covers the basics, including shop setup and hosting. But be very mindful of the course being outdated or containing some misconceptions; when creating a config product it was mentioned the selection of attributes in the first step is for the products in stock, while this is being determined in step 3. His approach would mean that you wouldn't create out of stock products which you could update in a later stage, but only create the ones in stock, therefore having an incomplete catalog. Also, when creating a config product; when a product didn't show up, he first checked setup of the product, then cache but seemed to forget about indexing.
The order of chapters could also be improved on, as it's not always in a logical order; creating a simple product is explained before attribute (sets).
Let's see what's up next!
The hosting platform in the first few chapters has changed its trial options. The course would've been better, if shown how to run Magento via a localhost method. That's also more cost friendly, especially when learning this to apply the knowledge at a company where Magento is already configured with a real database & online hosting.
