The course is teaching everything one should know to work efficiently with the free and open source graphic design program Inkscape. As a free program, there are plenty of short tutorials about Inkscape, but not a comprehensive video tutorial like this was made before! These lessons are not for solving individual tasks (like how to create a banner, how to draw a fish etc.) but rather going through all the tools one can need to understand and use Inkscape on an amateur or even professional level! Apart from sharing the tools, I also give my tricks and tips I developed myself as a designer working with Inkscape for years.
There are 30 lectures of varying length, and .svg files are provided where needed, so students can learn and experiment. This is how the course is built up:
In the first set of lectures we go through the basic tools, and understand how Inkscape works.
Then the more complex tools follow, and we create more elaborate designs.
Then I'm sharing some illustration tips and tricks, that will make for clever and outstanding illustration.
And in the final lessons we create a Christmas card together, using all the tools and knowledge acquired during the course.

good information but audio just a bit low quality
The course was great. It is a good mixture of technical instructions and easy to follow along creative tips to start you on your path to creating amazing vector illustrations. I would love to see the course updated( as of this review version 1.3 of inkscape has been release) but the course material still has relevance.

Very hard to understand him, as I keep watching and listening, I am better at understanding him. I wish he would not move the curser so fast so I could actually see what he is clicking on. Also I think he uses some key board shortcuts that we should be informed of.
I am really enjoying learning Inkscape. However, I'm having a bit of difficulty understanding the teacher. In addition, he left out the word "double click" in the editing gradient portion, so I spent three days (and watched several different videos) to figure out why I couldn't get the same result. But I finally did.
The instruction is good and it did help me start to use Inkscape. Once in a while I get confuse but overall I am satisfied with it. Keep up the good work.
This was a good introduction to InkScape. Although the audio and video was a bit fuzzy, the instructor was able to explain in very good detail without over complicating anything, how to use InkScape. The example of the Christmas Card at the end was very good. And also the other examples where he shows you how to make a coffee mug, rain-drops and even how to make trees and bushes just shows you how you can take a simple object and make it more complex without too much work. The rest now has to do with your own creativity. Thank you for the course.
It's a very good course. If you want to get going right away with drawing and experimenting in Inkscape this is the course for you! it is very practical and hands on from the get go.
