Mayby it is a course for a starter, but he is only showing one pentatonic scale (shape). There are 5 in the CAGED system.

I found this course to be fairly fast paced but the lesson progressions were just about the right pace for me. I knew a thing or two about guitar going into this course but wanted to learn more about how to play lead. The lessons were exactly what I wanted. There were also plenty of downloadable diagrams provided in the course to help you practice, which I found a huge help.
