These Excel functions provide some function of merging, linking, and aggregating. The PowerQuery tool includes mechanisms for performing these operations that make these functions seem quaint and outdated. Why write three columns of SUMIFS if you can get the same results with a single GROUP BY command without needing to write any formulas at all?

This course is designed for all Excel users since PowerQuery is designed for all users -- not just power users capable of building incredible Excel worksheets with functions, VBA, and mystical trickery. As such, the course focuses almost exclusively on using the PowerQuery ribbon to perform every action. We do not dive into the Advanced Editor to interact with the M Language at all.
In the last few lessons of the course, you will be introduced to the M Language through the custom column creation tool and introduced to the functions section of Microsoft's Power Query M Language Reference to assist you in building those custom calculations. These calculations are a great place to learn about how to interpret and use the functions in preparation for more advanced applications.

The videos showing solutions went too fast
So far, it seems as though we are going through the information quickly. it is difficult to take notes while listening. It would be helpful to have access to a work book to use as a reference and to take notes. Maybe once I go through the exercises, I will feel more comfortable.
I wish he could have gone into more detail on the solutions of the quizzes and assignments. Explain what it going on with each section. To me that is the most important part of the course; walking through each Powerpoint explaining each solutions. The way he did it I could have learned that from YouTube videos. More detail explanations. More detail explanations on quizzes and assignments instead of music.

Very interesting course with new insights! The course shows how you organize, append, merge and group by data and more in different practical cases with many wow-effects!
Great but in the last two video, you moved too fast.
This is an interesting, and somewhat challenging course for someone who accidentally stumbled upon Power Query, with no previous knowledge or experience. I appreciate the short chapters, and the opportunity to try to figure out the exercises and quizzes on my own. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is the video gets blurry at certain points, and the audio tends to fade in and out sometimes. I think the content is very good and just what I need for my next project at work.
The audio goes in and out very frequently. You might want to try and re-record this course. When it comes to the content I'll give it 5 stars, tho.

The content, examples and exercise problems are almost to the level of real world problems. But for a beginner it would be difficult to follow at such high pace. I would recommend to slow a down a bit. Apart from this, this course is worth it and i would also take the Advanced M language course.
