Hi - my name is Michael DiGregorio, I am an independent creative, and user of the free and open source vector graphic editor, Inkscape. I have used the Inkscape platform for many applications:  Illustrations, 2D game images, marketable products, product packaging, a vast amount of logos and assorted images. Although I have used other well-known graphic editors, Inkscape has truly...

The lessons are very good and easy to follow. I started out with zero experience and the step by step lessons are exactly what I needed. I'm learning a lot!

Good teaching style but course as a whole is unfinished work. Incomplete since 2017. Follow-up was announced but never released. Although the Instructor uses older Inkscape-release 0.97, current release in 2021 is 1.1, in practice this does not matter.

Selection of Inkscape-Extensions explained seems arbitrary. He proceeds top-down through the pulldown menu of entries, and stops mid-way.

As in the beginner course, This course takes a peculiar approach: Methodically explain the (advanced) menu items, one by one. Course does _not_ teach Vector graphics.

Very good course and I highly recommend it as a continuation from his beginner course. Mr DiGregorio's teaching is top drawer and well plotted. If you work through and practice his lessons you will arrive at a very proficient level of understanding. Programs like Inkscape are quite deep and Mr DiGregorio gives you the foundation to build a solid ability to use the tools. The creation part is up to you. It is unfortunate that Inkscape still has bugs, but it is free and does need people to donate. Its a lot of time and effort to engineer and maintain software of this size and power. Any bugs should be taken into account and not reflect on Mr DiGregorio in the least.

I found that the deeper instructional use of tools was extremely helpful to me for my design projects and being able to refer to each tool individually and apply it to my own creations is a huge leap forward in my workflow.
This method of teaching can be a bit dry at at times but overall the trade-off for such a tremendous body of information was worth it.
If you are serious about learning Inkscape and advancing your skills to the next level then this is a must have course.
