About This Course

Learn how to juggle life's competing demands at the office and home, using Personal Kanban, an award winning visual tool

Do you feel overwhelmed trying to keep track of your daily activities? Afraid that you'll forget something important?

Most people feel that there's just not enough time in a day to do everything they need to do, never mind what they WANT to do. Life is a rush from point A to point B, meeting deadlines and milestones in-between, and they associate a lot of stress with day-to-day activities.

But I'm here to show you how you can have less stress and more fun in your life!

Hello, my name is Gerry Kirk.

I have been coaching and training individuals, teams and organizations for 10 years using Agile, Lean and Kanban. I have seen literally hundreds of people transform their lives with Personal Kanban™ through my workshops and individual client engagements.

Only a handful of people in the world actively consult or train in Personal Kanban™ and I am honored to be one of them. Personal Kanban™ forms an integral part of not only my business, but also my personal life. Thanks to Jim Benson and Tonianne DeMaria Barry for writing the Personal Kanban™ book and sharing this powerful tool.

Hundreds of people have had great results with Kanban under my coaching guidance and I guarantee that you will see immediate results with the Kanban system, too.

This is what some of my clients have to say:

I am pleasantly surprised by this course! When I enrolled, I had never heard about Personal Kanban before. Nevertheless, I was eager to learn about this work management system, because I was feeling increasingly more overwhelmed and frustrated by my schedule and never ending pile of work. [I found] this course was a joy to take: it was engaging, easy to understand and follow, and Gerry Kirk's passion for Personal Kanban is quite contagious! ~ Jennifer Gehly

"I had never heard of Kanban before but once I did this course I realised that it was exactly what I had been looking for. At a glance now I can see what needs to be done and the priority of those tasks. No more 'To Do' lists in the back of my diary! I feel less stressed and more organised. Highly recommended, thanks!" ~ Jennifer Bailey

"I find that the clutter in my head has drastically reduced." ~ Mandar Maranthe

"Gerry [reveals] how to continue to improve your flow of work. In advanced topics, he shows you how to discover more about the how and why of what you choose to do and learn a bit about yourself along the PK journey. ~ Mark Kilby

Yes, but few initial videos are not clear especially 1st as the voice quality and visibility is not good at all.
The inputs by the trainer, will work over identifying priority and creating personal Kanban with clear approach on professional and personal front.

Slow pace. I am familiar with the subject, so I was expecting a more vivid presentation.

I think it will be good in the end, but for me it is starting out a little slow. It was good in the end. I have a lot of experience with Scrum in the professional world so I could follow along very easily. For me I ended up revamping my physical board to include a Today lane, an Impediments / Blockers area for retrospections, and short and long term goals. I also categorized my backlog and went back to color coding the categories; I had gotten away from that. This was very helpful with organizing my board and also making me think more about balancing the categories based on my priorities. I have put WIP limits on most categories. I added WIP limits to the backlog categories to use during planning to ensure my plan to start is balanced, versus adding a WIP to the Done column.

It's a taped recording of a former lecture done in a hotel room. Can't see what he is writing on the board and can't hear what the audience is asking.

It's a very good course with some good insights. I learned quite a lot. Personally I really like working with a Kanban Board instead of a ToDo List but it's always difficult to make the right choice between a physical board that is bound in one location and a digital board for which you need a device and / or internet access.

One point that I didn't like during the course is, that some videos have a quite poor sound quality (like a recording with a built-in laptop microphone).

But all in all it's a nice course.

Helpful course, production falters at points (audio, video quality) and instructor could be a bit more focused at points. However, a nice introduction and thorough in its material. Some tangents were just that - not sure how the related to the course as a whole (meeting format at end seems dropped in and out of context).
