Yes, I am actually a string player ( both violin and viola) and I am writing original instrumental/and some covers....so I have been struggling with how to get started with my album. I've recorded a lot in my career for singer songwriters that were looking for sweeping violin lines and fills- but this is different. I actually want to develop and create my own songs.

The course was presented well and informative but I was expecting a little more in depth content. The certification at the end of the course was a plus!

A powerpoint download would also be helpful of the main discussion points and info covered in this course.

Cheryl provides a treasure trove of knowledge in "how to make a record" from start to finish in a fun, clever, and concise manner. Everything is linearly laid out and there are a wealth of resources in the other checklists and links provided. This is an absolute MUST-SEE for anyone that has never made a record before or anyone that has felt their process could have gone much better.

-Some useful advice, but a lot of it was no-brainer stuff.
-Audio knowledge that "seasoned professionals" of studio-recording, or even beginning students, would already know or be able to find from free sources.
-Marketing knowledge that is covered more in depth in other videos like "How to make money on Youtube".
-Low production quality and effort. It looks like all the videos were shot in one hour with little to no rehearsal or re-takes. Almost no post-production either.

Finally- a step-by-step process on how to record an album. The resources she offers have saved me so much time and research. Half of the stuff I didn't even think about before so I am so glad I took this course first. I feel like I am getting some real insider information. I also took advantage of having a one-on-one consultation with Cheryl and it was amazing. I was so overwhelmed before but Cheryl helped me create concrete goals tailored to my career. Highly recommend!

Very slickly made and Cheryl knows her onions but most of what she says is just common sense, though there are some nuggets along the way.
