I am not really a beginner but I was searching for something on Vector Character creations so when I found this, I grabbed it & it's terribly affordable.
Bryant covered the Pen Tool subject with so much ease & although the Pen Tool is no stranger to me, I still sat & listened to him. Beginners will find this course very easy to follow & not overwhelming at all.
The vector character was pretty basic & I'm sure it was intentional on Bryant's part not to over complicate his students but to show them simple techniques & master them....But it's good enough for anyone to develop it further or make more sophisticated models once you've mastered the ins & outs. Bryant shows you that.
His techniques & lessons are easy to follow & don't let my definition of "Basic techniques or Character " fool you into thinking that you'll only be learning to make stick figures.

This was such a helpful course. I am not new to Photoshop or Illustrator but have never been good at drawing people.
I have always been so frustrated by the pen tool in Photoshop and Illustrator and this is the first time I've actually been able to better understand how to use it. I appreciate the fact that the character drawings were simple for a beginner like me.
The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is there were certain parts of the course that were not so polished. He would make mistakes and backtrack and I would get a bit lost when he'd go back so I felt there could have been slightly better editing to make the course run smoother.
Otherwise, it was great for someone like me who just wants the basics of learning to draw characters in Photoshop and Illustrator using the pen tool. If you've always struggled with this tool, this will help. It would have been nice to see just a bit more detail and explanations on the fundamentals of the tool but nevertheless this helped me GREATLY!
Also, I'm a Photoshop user mostly and was able to apply the lessons here to Photoshop CS6 with no problem.
