About This Course

Become a pro at using the mixer in FL Studio. Learn how to achieve the results you want.

Hi! - I'm GratuiTous.  I've been producing music on FL Studio since 2011 and have worked with a GRAMMY nominated recording artist.

The mixer is a daunting tool for new producers just getting started in music production.

So that's my goal with this course - to break down the mixer in an easy-to-understand course.

We start at the basics by comparing a real hardware mixer to FL Studio's digital mixer and eventually work our way up to subgroups and complex routing with sends.

A funny thing I'll mention is when I first started mixing I typically liked my unmixed version better than my mixed version lol.

If you're just starting, too, then I'm sure you've experienced this.

Mixing is something that will only come with time.

The reason I didn't like my mixes when I was new was simply because of inexperience and over-processing.

As I gained more experience I gained a better insight to what I'm wanting to achieve out of a mix, and that's typically gentler settings while allowing more focus towards certain elements of the song.

I break down many fundamentals I've discovered over my years of being a music producer and share how I set up my own personal mixer with color-coding and proper labeling to achieve a fast and efficient mix.

This course will build a solid understanding of the mixer and you'll be able to route your audio around with complexity.

# GratuiTous

it was a perfect match for me and has helped me entirely with organization of my mix. I think before, working on my production i would get very burnt out from a lack of knowledge; whether it be via organization or what plugins really do, what their knobs really do, and this course has shed a light on it, and also included a lot of small "easter eggs" so to speak, which aren't necessarily about mixing itself, but will give you a better quality experience using the software. Such as if you have a plugin open and hit F1, it takes you to FL's help page, breaking down the exact plugin you're on.

There were some things that could have been explained better and for $40 I was hoping it would have some more information on different plugins but It was worth it since it was on sale.

Upfront, Riley knows his stuff and its obvious right away. I rated it 4.5 stars because I debated on if I should go with 4 or 5 stars for a few minutes. I didn't realize how far I have advance in mixing until watching this course and that's why I debated on giving it a 4 but ultimately felt that wasn't accurate for what this course offers which is a wealth of knowledge that is easy to understand and useful, that is why I went with 4.5.

This course is perfect for those that have never mixed or just started doing it. The process Riley uses and walks you through is a great way to learn the beginning process for mixing. Setting things up in an organized manner is great and really helpful to establish as a habit early on. Mentioning the shortcuts is also good for new FL Studio users as well and there is ALOT of them.

I would recommend it to those that have mixing knowledge because for those of us that are self taught you will learn nomenclature and terms used in the industry as well as useful tips on sidechains and sends. That being said,
I personally wanted more technical information, precision mixing, or more in-depth look at cutting freq in certain genres as an example but that isn't a knock on this, I didn't realize it until I watched it.

It's a very very informative course on how the use the mixer in FL Studio and of course in any other DAW. Riley knows absolutely what he's doing and what's he's talking about. I've learned a lot of cool things although I'm recording already for a long time but since a year now using FL Studio, before I've used Cubase (an awful constantly crashing DAW) Cakewalk and Ableton. Now I've been using Ableton Live 10 and FL Studio which I like most of the two. I Highly recommend this course on everyone who records music. Riley is an excellent teacher !!

Ive been using fl studio for 5 years now and I'm finally taking a solid course especially for mixing. Mixing is something I'm really just now getting the hang of. Organizing and color coding is something I needed to learn better. I like where the course is going so far. I have high expectations for what this will teach me.

Good information on fundamentals of mixing, sends and sidechains in FL Studio. Competent instructor. Excessive tweaks and fine adjustments to the mix didn't add to my understanding of the process and were at times tedious to sit through.

I do these courses to learn new things and this course delivered that. There were some complex concepts that were covered and Riley explanations were much more helpful than others I have seen. He was well organised with what was covered and I didn't feel my time was wasted. Great course for FL Studio uses - but a shame that Third Party plugins were mainly used.
