It almost feels as if the speaker is forced to speak. He is tired and not motivated to "teach." Also, the view is limited. Some very important parts of the screen are covered at any time by the title of the course up left and the timeline down—so he is sleep-speaking and showing important staff for a beginner, but I can not see at all what he shows on the screen on the upper and lower parts of it.

Helped me with the basics of Final Cut Pro, but I would have liked some more explanations. For example, there is a lot of talk about color grading but not a lot of the theory or why to do it. For example, "this scene was kind of dark, so I adjusted the exposure in this way for these reasons and color graded in this way for these reasons."

Seems hard for an expert to convey perspective about what we're doing in this overview. Some seems for rank beginners but some seems very advanced. If it's for both there might be a mention. E.g. poof, here's a color grading tool. Wild looking thing. How soon do I need to know that. If it's in case a pro just needs that okay, say so, and what chapter to go to.

The course covers a lot of the basics of how to use FCPX but the entire course appears to have been rushed and is of pretty low quality (particularly considering the topic). Most of the clips used in the examples are so crappy that they still appear to be of very low quality/interest even when an affect that he is trying to demonstrate has been applied to it. The section on audio editing is particularly poor - most of the time you can't hear the edited sound since he was wearing headphones when he recorded this section. Why not simply spend the extra 30 minutes to reshoot the entire lesson? It appears really lazy to simply add a caption saying 'sorry folks - you can't hear this because I was wearing headphones"!
In summary, the course contains some useful basic tips on using FCPX but the reason behind why you would even bother with many of the edits is lost due to the poor overall quality of the course.

Wow… really hard to follow a tiny little mouse as the instructor constantly refers to “this area here” and “that area” and “this area” - again, all the while expecting us to see where the tiny, black mouse actually is. Perhaps some judicious use of a tool like ProMouse might make this more useful. Magnifying the “this area here” so we can both see where the instructor is talking about but also to visibly see the text he is referring to would really help. The instructor sounds very tired in this video - the enthusiasm is underwhelming. Hopefully this improves in subsequent lessons!

Moved too fast to tell what was going on. I felt like I was expected to already have some knowledge of video editing and terminology. I don't! Even with a lot of rewinding, I had difficulty following. But this is the tour of the interface - hopefully all will become clear as we progress into specifics.

I am an FCP user for a few years. This course was not engaging, and very simplistic, purely put together. There are no tutorials to do after the lessons (the few included are very generic), and the teacher is purely prepared, sometimes lessons drag for a long time because he can not find the buttons. And other times they are too fast leaving you without the basic knowledge.

Not my favorite teacher or course. I DO NOT recommend it.
