Have a film idea or project but have no financing for it? Want to learn how to properly pitch your indie film to an investor?

So you’ve got your budget, you’ve found your audience, and now it’s time to pitch.  But this is no simple process, it’s a skill that must be practiced and honed.

Great movie ideas, like great business ideas, are not actionable unless they get the funding and resources needed to make it happen. Many believe that a good idea is all it takes to get funding, but what it really takes is a good pitch. Being able to effectively deliver a pitch is critical to your success, whether you are building your team, attracting talent, or raising money.

Yet many filmmakers struggle to create and present a pitch that brings results. So, how do you develop a good pitch? While we've done a few workshops to help filmmakers get feedback on their pitches, a lot of filmmakers just don't understand how to structure a pitch. So Producer Foundry has teamed up with Chris Aguilar to bring you a primer on building a pitch that will get Results.

Well, I was watching this course from a pre-recorded video. But I would have liked to have seen more questions, and also more examples of style of pitches, example for when you are pitching for TV to Film...given an idea on the length of time you are likely to have (But the point about calling and asking was good). Are there any exceptional pitches seen apart from the lady in the class who was pitching a bio...things done, said, props....what about rip-reels?

There were some good gems, but I thought this class could have been better. I think the location of filming in front of an audience was a mistake because there was a guy on the right who kept scratching his hair as if he had nits or headlice.

At times it was a little too long and dull and I felt some of the earlier lessons could have been cut by a few minutes without losing any detail. With the use of some more graphics, editing and losing the audience I felt it could have been a 4.

The presenter didn't seem to practice what he preached. For example, he said to have factoids in your presentation and practice, practice, practice, yet he didn't seem to have relevant factoids in his and several times forgot the titles of movies he was referring to.

Sometimes, it felt like he didn't have much movie experience for example, he asked does your movie have 3 scenes or 25?

Overall it is a good course. It would be nice to see examples of each pitch type in full.

The instructor was fine. I would have liked more real world examples. I would like to have seen successful pitches. I would like to have seen some case studies. The instructor's instructions really didn't have much to do about financing a film, but in reality how to be confident presenter/speaker. I wish he would have re-labelled the course as such. No matter, for what it was, it was fine. The instructor's ace in the hole is that he is likable on camera and engaging. (Both of which make a successful pitch.)
