clear and concise
This course is more of an "Introduction to the Drum Set" or "Drum Set for Complete Beginners". It is over-simplified, but in a reasonable way (except perhaps for calling the center of the drum head a "dead spot"). All told, I thought this was a good introduction to the drum set for people who are completely ignorant about it (it seems to be primarily aimed at kids, or completely ignorant parents whose child has asked to learn to play drums). It teaches the basics of what drum set playing is about in a well-considered progression (although I think the part about how to sit on the throne should have preceded learning the "Four on the Floor" groove). My only real complaint is the camera work. I don't recall that I ever got to see the foot playing the bass drum pedal.

An excellent way to start. The instructor keeps it interesting and you learn a lot about drumming.
I wanted to learn about drums right from the very beginning including the setting up of the kit names of parts etc... At first I thought it was a tad slow but by the end realised it needs to be, I recommend this course 100% for the beginner and Thomas Nelson as a good teacher. Highly recommend.. Thanks.
Picked up a drum set (electronic) for my granddaughters ages 3 and 6 to play with when visiting. Meaning I have to discover how to play to help teach them.
Only 30% through the training and wow I'm becoming a drummer. My thirst for knowledge on how to hold the sticks, parts of drums and how to start has been satisfied with this course.
Clear, easy to follow instructions and lots of spots to pause and practice for 3 or 5 mins before continuing on.
Easily I'll be teaching the girls what I've learned and the older girl will easily follow the teachings herself. I'm sure she'll love playing the drum game – keeping us both improving and on our toes.
Now back to drum practice and on to discovering about beats...

Tho this course is meant for kids and is delivered with a kid friendly tone...I enjoyed it cuz it spoke to my inner kid and got me a great foundation that I will go back to for reference no matter what level my drumming goes to. I love how simply patiently and poignantly this info was presented, so anyone can understand it. Very good info for the aspiring beginner drummer.
