This was the first Udemy course that I have ever purchased and completed.
I have found that Burt's course was exactly what I needed, to begin learning about this fantastic & limitless Voice User Interface (VUI) technology. I liked his open, friendly style that featured both formal and informal presentation methods and his use of training aids & examples was very good.
I thought that Section 2 was a very good module, and I came away not only knowing exactly what to do, but also what I will do in the near future. I think that Trivia, Facts and related Skills are not only technically interesting but also culturally; people like to learn and know different 'stuff'.
Section 3 was very helpful, although I had already undertaken these Amazon/Developer actions previously so I did not learn anything new although getting confirmation that I had done correctly registered, was overall quite helpful. For a newer person, especially someone attracted to 'no coding' skills, perhaps the registration process across the Amazon Platform, needs to be delivered slower and in more depth.
Section 4 was really interesting as conceptually I had no idea that it would be this easy, well done.
Sections 5 & 6 were without a doubt the most interesting, information and exciting as clearly there is no point making a skill to potentially monetise if you are unable to access & use multiple delivery channels, and build your market.
Sections 1-2 & 7-8 were helpful and provided good initial and post-course context.
The reason I did not score this course 5/5 was for two reasons: the first being that some of the content delivery was too fast, and I had trouble quite a few times understanding what was being spoken. The second reason was that some of the overall course time could have been reduced by compounding some of the material. However that is my opinion, I am sure that other attendees appreciate the spaced out delivery.
After I have completed another recent Udemy purchase, I will redo Burt's "Build, Monetize and Market Alexa Skills without Writing Code" course and make sure I have missed nothing out.
Overall I am very happy with this course, I will research VoiceApps.com as a support technology and will likely sign up to the 'Professional Plan'. I am also looking forward to seeing more training from Burt on this subject.
This is a very comprehensive training. The pacing is really good to be able to grasp the material and the breaks between modules are at good intervals.

This doesn't teach you to develop your own Alexa Skills. This only teaches you to use the instructor's software/website to create them. You can create very basic (and pointless) Alexa Skills with the free version of their software but to do anything useful, you have to pay $20/month. I feel like I paid $10 for this guy to advertise to me. Pretty clever from a business standpoint. Unfortunately, this business model makes it difficult to learn new skills because every other "instructor" on the internet is more focused on selling you something than informing you.
The skills you learn in this course will only help you while you pay $20/month to use the software. If it was more reasonably priced, I might not be so annoyed. Seems pretty steep to me. This course should be a free tutorial you get for paying for his software and not adverstised as a course on app development.

It was new and very informative. I started from zero and now can create Alexa skills using the $20/month Voice Apps web application he sponsors.
I experienced annoying blurred video moments in this course, things I don't often get for other Udemy courses.
Except that, I really enjoyed the course and I can already build and publish my own skills.

Very easy to follow course about building Alexa Skills using the VoiceApp platform. It goes step-by-step through the process of building and publishing skills without needing to know how to program.
This is an amazing course on how to build, monetize and market Alexa Skills without writing codes. The course is very informative, well structured, and presented in a step by step, easy to follow manner allowing you to quickly and easily grasp what is being taught. The course is well-organized; everything is covered. The recapping of each lesson is also a very useful reinforcement tool.
Many "teachers" just breeze over the basics; Burt hasn’t done this…he explains everything very clearly and skillfully, benefiting both the novice and experienced student.
If you are a beginner, you will get a good understanding of what Alexa is and how you can profit from this voice assistant that is taking the world by storm. If you have experience using Alexa, Burt shows you how to build your own Skills. This lesson alone is worth the price of the course.
I personally found it easier to go through the entire course first, and then go back and follow along to implement the steps taught. Also, after doing some research it made sense for me to purchase the Echo (2nd Generation) Smart Speaker with Alexa instead of the Echo Dot, the cheapest version.
I am extremely happy to get my hand on this course because I can follow along using Burt’s over the shoulder lessons to build useful Skills (I already have tons of ideas) that I know will benefit others, and ones that I can monetize in the process.
I highly recommend this course if you are interested in profiting from building Skills for Alexa devices.

I'm very disappointed in this content masquerading as a Udemy course. It's just a pitch to an affiliate site. The Created for Success site doesn't even exist. This was a total waste of time and money.
