Learn about the Religions of India, China, and Japan from a University Professor
The purpose of this course is to assist you in achieving an informed appreciation for the religious life of humankind as this is reflected in some of the most influential religious traditions in the world. It is intended neither to convert you to any particular religion nor to persuade you to reject any or all religion. Religion, however, is a vast field. The information now available concerning the religious traditions of humankind is too vast to encompass even in a lifetime. Thus the material we examine will be necessarily cursory and selective. Nevertheless, it will include a span of material sufficient to engender an appreciation of the great variety of the forms of religious life that exist in the world, as well as those pervasive features of such phenomena that justify our referring to them all as religions.

THE INSTRUCTOR COVERED THE SUBJECT VERY WELL.
It was neat to get an overview of the Asian religions. The instructor kept referring to the slides in the presentation but only one lesson had a link to the slides. No assessments either to reinforce the knowledge.
Some rules are explained but broad overviews of the history of the faith or the religious texts involved. No quizzes to check knowledge were placed in this study.
I have been interested in Asian religions since I was a kid, so I was really looking forward to taking this course. I enjoyed listening to the instructor discuss the different religions, though I wish that there had been some more interactive elements to the course, like mini reviews to see if you're grasping the basic concepts of each religion. Still, I think that this is a good course for people who are new to Asian religions and are interested in learning more about them.
It was a quick over view of the various Asian religions and served as a good reference.
Interesting but difficult to follow as the referred to slides unavailable or not found. In lecture reference is made to slide which are not available except for the lecture on Buddhism. Not having the slides makes it very difficult to follow!!!!!
Course is good but it is a SHAME that reference material such as slides are not m,ad available. Would have improved the course a lot.

If you're looking to gain introductory insights to the Asian religions, this course is for you. Make sure to listen carefully as the subtitles are not quite in sync. Lack of PPTs and quizzes make it difficult to assess your learning.
