In this tutorial,i will introduces the work process behind many of his vector landscapes, and details how, by using Illustrator CS6’s updated Pattern tool, he adds further depth and ease to the illustration.

You’ll learn how to use this tool to build repeating objects within vector scenes. These include vector-only textures created from crescent shapes that add a hand-made look. Alex also explains how to tweak those patterns, and how to best make them a part of the scene you intend to create.

The techniques shown here can be applied to making landscapes, as well as any pattern creation within Illustrator, including simplifying any work that contains repeated objects.

Yes but this version of AI is different than mine and there is not enough practical application of the tools he is showing us. Just one example of each would help.

I am only partially through this course and it's basically pretty good. Illustrator is a program with many, many applications and in learning the application one must practically learn a new language. It would be very helpful in the beginning sections to briefly define the terminology used (and perhaps give an example of when and why an artist would want to use a particular tool). The instructor's voice is very pleasant but I just would prefer more examples, as I am a complete beginner to Illustrator. I am a little familiar with Photoshop, so I wasn't completely bewildered but a little expansion on the definitions and reasons would be great!
